tha saddest movie...

i've seen A LOT of movies in my life time... like.. A LOT... probably thousands of movies...
i've seen hundreds of them multiple times... not many leave me w/ that feeling... or invoke a reaction... there's a small number that when i sit down to watch them, i feel like there's an impending something... they're exciting, they're scary, they move me...
one of those movies is frankie and johnny... billed as a romantic comedy, i find it to be the saddest and most depressing movie i've ever seen... never has a film captured loneliness like this.... the characters are so broken and tragic... the setting is so glum and oppressing... i can barely take it.. but i keep watching it b/c there's a certain beauty in all that sadness... the little things that get these characters going.. their passions for... keeping going...i can't describe it, there's a magnetism in the leads, there's this electric vulnerability that lights the darkness...tiny fireflies spark on the screen b/w frankie and johnny...

weekend adventures in bumfuck nowhere...

friday i worked, and then after work a whole bunch of us went to harvest burger (best burger joint in town!) so i didn't get home till later... and then went to bed even later....
woke up sat. super early, and was picked up by julie, we were off to pick up sarah and mirandy and off we were to our adventure...
and as every proper adventure begins, we stopped off at ikea for breakfast :D
then we toured the store and then it was roadtrip time!
unluckily for us, all the lanes were closed and we were stuck in traffic for over an hr! and then we had a small detour and finally, after 3.5 hrs. of driving we arrived at vaughn mils... we spend close to five hrs shopping..(and by shopping, i mean searching for things that don't exist....) and then we on the road again... we ended the night w/ desserts at demitri's and then it was home time...
being in a race against the clock to finish gilmore girls and start on the stack of flicks i bought, i stayed up too late and woke up too early...
this time (sunday) julie picked me up and off we were to the good city! traffic was good, and our timing was good too... we quickly situated ourselves at the skydome and prepared to watch the semi's for the grey cup! it was super exciting and super boring all in one! lol
this one woman proposed to her guy, and it was great! then we made our way back to the car and into the good city!
i got home, comfy and sat to finish gilmore (like,REALLY finish.. the show's done... sniff.. sob...) and so far, i've seen an american tail, kathy griffin: allegedly, and amelie.
now i'm off to watch beetlejuice and then i think it's bed time... and finally, tomorrow i get to sleep in!
in other unrelated news, my tat is super itchy!!! i can barely stand it!

updated post...(or: what ever happened to my witty titles?!)

so this week, though not officially over, has been chalk full of crazy!
monday i worked, tues. i was stood up for a movie, so i entered loserville and watched the bee movie by myself... :S wed. i had an interview in the good city and then worked a bit, and then i had training...
today i was supposed to work a double, but i was totally tired and went home to have a nap..
tomorrow i'm going to get a credit card!!! i'm tre excited! first thing i'm going to order is a double feature of the philadelphia story and bringing up baby off amazon!
then i'll go nuts w/ books and other dvds... (on the horizon, i'm still looking to buy house of flying daggers)
what else?
this wknd is also busy, sat. we're possibly going to vaughn for shopping, then mini gulf and then play, and then coffee... sun. i'm going to the good city again to watch an argos football game.... and then possibly a movie... not sure yet...
tat update: it's peeling and gross and super itchy.. this is the worst part of the healing process... :S

my wknd...

friday i got inked...
sat. i worked and was in pain... (but it was SOOOOOOOO worth it! this tat, is amazing!)
and then b/c i haven't been eating properly for a week, i crashed sat. night and slept all the way to sunday, but i was in pain... i was uncomfortable, and in pain, and just couldn't sleep... so it was a long but useless sleep...
sun. had a shift, and then i napped... and then just vegged... and now, monday, i've been up for a while...i can't sleep again... i've been consistantly waking up every couple of hrs... :S
blah...
today i work...but at night, so at least i get to rest in bed... though i think i need to get out of bed, b/c my back's killing me...
i started watching house of flying daggers last night... wow.. so amazing! and later today i'm going to watch hero...
and tomorrow is GILMORE DAY! whoohoo!
and that's it... i'm going to watch some movies!

so quick update:
saw saw iv: it was AWFUL! worst movie ever! i'm so glad i don't pay for movies...
and i saw american gangster, it was ok, i liked the final scene a lot...
and finally, i got inked today!
i got my butterflies on my left calve...and i thought it would hurt like a sonofabitch, but it wasn't that bad...even the one near the ankle...
it took 2 hrs. and it's AMAZING! hopefully i'll be able to get some pics up soon...
the only thing is that now i'm in incredible pain... i really wanna go out and get some food, but moving hurts... :S
i'll see about getting a pizza...

other than that... it's been a busy week... full of work and meetings and running arounds...
i love this new cold weather! it makes my heart sing!
i'm on season 6 of oz... going to finish it today... and then it's movie marathon time!
next week i'm hoping to finally watch saw iv.... the universe if conspiring against me having anything to do w/ it... mmmmm should i listen to the universe?
i went out w/ julie this week to this middle eastern place and it was awesome! (we capped the night off w/ a screening of aladin :D)
OH! and we also bought these crazy screaming trolls... i call mine prudence...she's awesome!
this wknd. i worked... got some more middle eastern food, and now it's shift time...
the only other thing that's on my mind, is that i got a curious email and i'm not sure how to respond... a lost and dark voice called to me from the forgotten abyss of broken friendship, and i'm not sure how to proceed...
later today, i'm going to eat some nice food and watch some good tv... life is good :D
